BC Communications Production Samples

Evergreen Valley College "Where are you going?"

A great example of full-service production on the fly. The client needed these spots on the air ASAP, but had no script or talent lined up for shoot day.  Add to that the fact that it was finals week and the campus was a ghost-town. We scouted around, grabbed a few bodies and started shooting, literally writing the spot on-the-spot. That's what you get when you let creative types do your creative work.

Amigo Bail Bonds - "Priceless"

This was one of those spots written on a cocktail napkin and produced on a dare.  Usually one would do well to eschew parodies when trying to build a brand, but this was just too tempting, and it did indeed pay off for the client who, to his credit, stood back and let us run with the idea. Because we were making light of a DUI arrest, we had to be verrrrry careful to get the tone just right. Special thanks goes to actor Sean Okane for hitting the part on the head.

San Jose City College - "Economics"

Another Junior College, but this campus is completely different. SJCC is geared more specifically to occupational training and students wishing to transfer to a four-year institution. We were told the spots had to be "hip," cover a wide range of course offerings and include a list of some of the institutions one might hope to transfer to - a seemingly large and incongruous list of message points, but we made it work rather smoothly. We're good like that.

Santa Clara County Social Services - "Grace"

In the heat of the dot-com dogpile, Santa Clara County Social Services launched a campaign  to recruit technical types. Not having gobs of stock options to offer, these spots sold the fact that this technical job actually makes a difference in people's lives. To our great pleasure we learned that there was indeed a strong response at a time when high-rolling corporations were begging for the same kind of applicants. Was it the power of persuasion or a fit of computer-geek altruism?
